What is the Technology?

Platelet rich plasma is an all-natural procedure that uses a client’s own blood components to stimulate the renewal of damaged tissue in areas of the face, neck, décolleté, hands and body. The procedure is touted for having great efficacy in revitalizing skin and eliminating wrinkles, sagging and dark circles, while healing damaged skin. Extracted blood platelets that contain proteins, nutrients, and a variety of growth factors are  applied on to the site of concern. When growth factors are applied, repair of damaged tissue begins, generating collagen and hyaluronic production. A natural enhancement of the skin’s appearance begins to take place and youthfulness, suppleness and volume are restored to the treated areas.

What can I expect during the treatment?

You can expect a great deal of improvement in skin texture and volume within 3-4 weeks of your procedure. Progression of results will continue for up to three months. First, we draw 30mls of blood. It is put into a centrifuge, which separates the three components of the blood. Once the components are separated, the platelet-rich plasma is injected into the face. This process  takes about 45 minutes. The plasma is created as a gel that is then used as a mask to be absorbed by the skin to assist in the restoration process.

What are the results?

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a safe healing process that has been studied and applied to restore many areas of concern. This treatment accelerates the rejuvenating properties of the body, eliminating the need for cosmetic surgery. PRP is also biocompatible with the human body, requiring little or no recovery time. During the first 24–48 hours after treatment you may experience redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated areas. These reactions are normal and resolve quickly and spontaneously over the next 2-4 days. You may apply light, water-based or mineral makeup where necessary.

Is PRP Safe?

This method is extremely safe, with no risk of allergic reaction because the PRP gel is produced by your own blood. Furthermore, concentrated quantities of white blood cells (the body’s defenders against infection) are also a part of the plasma being created into a mask for the skin is absorbed at the end of the treatment. This, too, promotes the skin’s restoration. Thus, infection is less likely to occur.
